Thomas Edward ''Eddie'' Lafever, Jr., age 61 of Monticello, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home. He was born October 1, 1963, in Holly Springs, MS to the late Thomas Edward ''Tommy'' Lafever, Sr. and Jean Rose Lafever.

Eddie was born and raised in Mississippi and later moved to Monticello, AR in 1999 where he worked in the grocery business for almost 40 years. He began working in the grocery business at the age of 13 at Carlisle's Big Star in Holly Springs, MS. He worked in Mississippi and Arkansas for Piggly Wiggly, Food Giant, Foodway and Bill's Super Foods. He then left the grocery business and went to work for Spartan-Intimidator of Southeast Arkansas for 9 years selling lawnmowers and tractors to customers who became great friends. Each customer or friend he ever met, whether in the grocery business or lawnmower and tractor business, he greeted with a huge smile, handshake and a ''Hey Cuz''.

Eddie was a dedicated member of the Holly Springs, MS Fire and Rescue Department for many years where he received many certifications for Fire, Rescue and Dive. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Monticello.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michelle Poe Lafever of Monticello; two sons, Andy Lafever and wife Katie of Olive Branch, MS and Thomas Lafever and wife Amy of Monticello; one daughter, Anna Lafever of Conway; two brothers, Johnny Lafever and wife Suzanne of Holly Springs, MS and Dee Lafever of Corinth, MS; two sisters, Michelle Lafever Canten and Melinda Lafever both of Corinth, MS; and four grandchildren, Gus and Elizabeth Lafever of Olive Branch, MS and Mckinzie Lafever and Baby Boy Lafever due in March 2026 of Monticello, AR.
