Thomas Lamorgese

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Lamorgese, Ed.D. who departed this life on July 17, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 11, 1952 in Bronx, NY, Thomas had an unwavering commitment to his wife and children. He valued his friends and shared his sense of humor with all those fortunate to cross his path.
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Anne Lamorgese, his son Marc (Angel) Lamorgese, and daughter Lisa Lamorgese. He also leaves behind his brother Paul Lamorgese, sister Nancy (Robert) Brooks, and brother Michael (Beth) Lamorgese, all of whom will remember their brother with love and admiration.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Paul and Nancy Lamorgese, his brother, Patrick Lamorgese and cherished dogs Nico and Frisky. Undoubtedly, they were waiting to welcome him home.
Throughout his career in education as a teacher and school administrator, Dr. Lamorgese was committed to the growth and development of his staff and students. Most notably he spent many years impacting the school community in the Village of East Hampton, NY as the principal of John M. Marshall Elementary School and East Hampton Middle School. He also spent time as an Assistant Superintendent in Amagansett schools. He will be missed by his peers and the countless students under his care whose lives he touched. He retired with his wife to Naples, Florida in 2019.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Palm Royale Funeral Home & Cemetery, providing time for personal goodbyes. A funeral mass for Thomas will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to join together in honoring his memory.
