Thomas William Larimer, 71, of Weirton, WV, passed away on November 5, 2024.
Born on June 16, 1953, in Brookville, PA, Tom was the son of the late William Orvis and Isabelle M. Shoup Larimer. He grew up in Sligo, Pa and graduated from Union High School, in Rimersburg, PA.
A dedicated and accomplished I.T. Specialist, Tom spent 22 years with Weirton Steel, managing their I.T. Department before accepting the buyout. He continued his career with ACS Xerox in Robinson, PA, until health issues emerged following his heart surgery in 2014.
Tom's family remembers him as "stubborn" yet deeply loving. His sister, Patti, fondly recalls their friendly golf rivalry, where he often found himself on the losing end. A passionate sports enthusiast, Tom could frequently be found enjoying sports on TV or at the bowling alley, where he was once a regular in the Steel Valley Bowling League. His early love of boxing, taught by his father and grandfather, gave way to ultimately a lifelong enjoyment of golfing.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his family: his son, Shawn Larimer (Tara); his daughter, Tracy Larimer; his beloved grandson, Kamdyn Thomas Larimer; and his sister, Patti Ann Bloomfield (Mel).
In accordance with Tom's wishes, there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter in his memory.
Cremation is under the direct care of the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home's Crematory 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
