Thomas F. Latin, 77, of Port Monmouth, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1947, in Hoboken, New Jersey. Thomas met and later married the love of his life, JoAnn Basile on November 6, 1971, together they moved to North Bergen, New Jersey. In 1974, they moved to Matawan, New Jersey. Along with their family, they made their final move to Port Monmouth, New Jersey, in 1980. Thomas served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service time, Tom was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart medal and a Bronze Star. Tom retired from Buhler Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram, where he worked as a Director in the automotive service department for many years.
Thomas loved spending time, fishing, working on cars and going to Sandy Hook beach with his wife. He could also be found enjoying a beer listening to DuWop music and dancing to the oldies. Above all else, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. With great fondness he will alway be remembered as a "Jack of all Trades", and there was never a problem he couldn't resolve.
He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Josephine (Rongo) Latin as well as his brother, Joseph Latin. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnn Basile Latin, his cherished children, Joseph Latin and his wife Christine, of Lutz, Florida, Michelle Juarbe and her husband Baltazar of Union Beach, New Jersey and Donna Latin of Middletown, New Jersey and his adoring grandchildren, Julia Juarbe, Emma Juarbe, Ava Latin, Devon DiGiovanni, Thomas Latin, Nicholas DiGiovanni and Isabella DiGiovanni and lastly his wonderful "fur babies" Delilah, Zoey, Bella, Tucker and Roxy. Thomas was a dedicated son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.
