Thomas Dale Leidy, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved most. A beloved Father, Brother, and "Pops," he lived a full and meaningful life defined by service, hard work, kindness, and devotion to family.
Dale graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 1966. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Medal for his bravery and service. Before his military service, he attended college in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, for two years. On May 15, 1971, he married the love of his life, Jane Yerk, beginning a partnership that would span more than five decades.
He worked alongside his two brothers in their family-owned business, Leidy Brothers Building, for 35 years before continuing his career with Leidy Pork Products. Known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and kind heart, Dale enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Dale was a life member of Immanuel Leidy's Church and a former member of Ridge Valley United Church of Christ in Sellersville where he served on the consistory at both. He was a former member of the Souderton-Harleysville Game Fish and Forestry Association in Tylersport, PA.
He had a lifelong love of sports and especially enjoyed fishing and golfing. After retirement, he embraced life as a snowbird, spending his days fishing, golfing, and enjoying time at the Welfare Mansion Inc in
Wellsboro, PA. He loved annual fishing trips to Goéland Lake in Canada and spending time with the grandkids. Above all else, he treasured time with his friends and family and took great pride in caring for the people he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Leidy; his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Eric Coronato; his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Melissa Leidy; four grandchildren - Lucas & Mia Coronato and Owen & Piper Leidy; his four step-grandchildren - Megan, Kyle, Caleb, & Brycen Griffiths; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Olin and Susan Leidy, Neal and Terri Leidy; and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth (Leidy) and Kendall Musselman, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin "Ody" Leidy II and Mary (Clemens) Leidy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Immanuel Leidy's Church, 273 W. Cherry Lane,
Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am.
A private inurnment will take place at Immanuel Leidy's Church Cemetery.
