Thomas Lindskog Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2026.
Thomas "Tom" James Lindskog, affectionately known by many as Boy, Papa, and Grandpa, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at The Commons on Marice in Eagan, Minnesota. He was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and grew up with a passion for life, adventure, and family that carried him through his 87 years.

Tom was born on August 12, 1938, to Carl and Lorraine Lindskog. From a young age, he showed a knack for building things and a love of adventure that would define much of his life. After earning his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, he built not only a successful business but also a life filled with family, hard work, and an enduring spirit of independence.

In 1964, Tom married Barbara, his steadfast partner through six decades of marriage. Together they raised three children, Anne, Karen, and Eric, who were the joy of his life and the source of many of his proudest moments. Tom was the kind of father and grandfather who could fix anything, make you laugh when you least expected it, and never once doubted that his way was the right way.

Tom loved speed and the freedom that came with it. Whether behind the wheel of a boat, a car, on a snowmobile or motorcycle, he was happiest when the wind was in his hair and the world was rushing by. He cherished time Up North, boating, fishing, windsurfing or water skiing at the cabin. He enjoyed family trips to Disney World and beaches in Florida, as well as many European and Hawaiian vacations with Barb. His sense of adventure never faded, and neither did his love for those who shared it with him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Anne and Karen; son, Eric; and three beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lorraine Lindskog, and his brothers, Bob and David. Family and friends take comfort in knowing he is now at rest, reunited with loved ones who went before him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom's memory can be made to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute or to a charity of your choice. (https://secure.allinahealth.org/site/Donation2?idb=0&df_id=1820&1820.donation=root&mfc_pref=T && )

A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, where stories will be shared, laughter encouraged, and memories honored. A visitation will be held at Washburn McReavy Edina Funeral Chapel at 10am followed by service at 11am and a lunch to follow.
