Thomas "Tom" Michael LoCascio
"Beloved brother, uncle & friend"
Tom LoCascio, 69, of Terryville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Ingraham Manor in Bristol, after a period of declining health.
Tom was born in Waterbury, CT on July 20, 1954, son of the late Joseph V. and Carmella M. (Mangini) LoCascio. He worked all of his adult life at Waterbury ARC and happily became "a man of leisure" at 65. Tom had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit and a great smile. He kept everyone laughing with his funny comments and quips.
Tom made friends with practically everyone he met. If he didn't know you, he soon would - asking, "what's your name and what kind of car do you drive?" answer those questions and you were sure to be fast friends!
Tom had many talents; he was a world class whistler and had a beautiful singing voice. He had a refined palate and loved gourmet meals. Tom enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes; bowling, going out to eat, and watching SpongeBob were some of his favorites. He had a collection of watches and being an avid car fan, he built and collected model cars and attended local car shows. In Tom's younger years he enjoyed traveling and visiting family from Maine to Maryland, Massachusetts to New Hampshire, and to Texas and beyond. He was a great fisherman and spent many hours on lakes, rivers and oceans with his dad and siblings, sometimes out-fishing everyone!
Most of all, Tom loved spending time with his family at holiday gatherings, vacations and parties. Topping that list were the legendary Italian Easter feast and his annual pilgrimage to the Cape.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his siblings; Cornelia R. Stockman and her husband James of Kennebunkport, ME, Joseph P. LoCascio and his wife Betty of Chester, MD, Peter P. LoCascio and his wife Sharon of St. Charles, IL, Mary L. Stoll of Peoria, AZ, and Felicia A. Whitney and her husband Jim of Merrimack, NH, and his brother-in law Richard I. Cherubino of Watertown, CT. He will be sadly missed by 10 loving nieces and nephews, Matt and Cary, Kristen, John and Richard, Alyssa, Abigail and Julia and Vince and Francis. Tom was also blessed with 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces and many cousins. Tom leaves behind so many friends including, Eugene, Raymond, Kevin and Paul, who helped make Tom's life full, happy and exciting.
He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Nina B. Cherubino and brother-in-law Mark A. Stoll.
His family would like to acknowledge and thank Tom's mentors, case managers, administrators and many others who helped and guided Tom along the way, and truly made a difference in his life.
Sincere gratitude to the Marrakech team, The Bristol Hospital, Bristol Hospice agency and Ingraham Manor teams for the care, love and compassion they gave Tom.
Tom also made a difference in our lives and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
