It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Alexander Loker, 46, of Pennsburg, who left us unexpectedly on Monday, July 29th, 2024. Born in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Thomas Loker and Irene (Leskinen) Kinder, and brother of Justin Loker. Tom was the beloved husband and best friend of Kristin (Canonaco) Loker.
Tom and Kristin met in 2010 while working for Cheap Caribbean in Doylestown, and from that moment, they were an inseparable duo. True kindred spirits, they spent their free time traveling, enjoying the company of their beloved cats, and embarking on wild road trips to witness incredible sights like two total eclipses, breathtaking auroras, and numerous rocket launches. Both were avid sports fans, though they didn't always agree on which teams to support. Tom, ever patient and agreeable, was always up for Kristin's adventurous whims-whether it was driving hours to spot a rare bird or scouring the land for a specific ice cream flavor (despite his aversion to ice cream). Their shared passion for volunteering at Tabby's Place, a cat sanctuary, was a testament to their kind hearts. Tom had a knack for befriending even the most cantankerous cats, turning them into loyal companions who would watch college football with him on his phone.
Tom ('Tommyweather' to many) had a deep love for meteorology, often predicting the weather and sharing his forecasts on Facebook (with the help of his trusty feline sidekicks). His accurate and detailed posts were eagerly anticipated by friends and family, who came to rely on his unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm. Whether it was a sunny day or a storm on the horizon, Tom's weather updates were both amusing and informative, and appreciated by all.
Tom was fiercely loyal to those he loved, and showed it without hesitation. He was a mentor to many, both in his professional life and among his friends and family, always ready to offer guidance, support, and a listening ear. As his friend Claire succinctly stated, Tom was such a unique and amazing person. So many layers. Genius, for sure. Excel nerd, absolutely. Lover of cats. Buster of balls. Devoted brother. Wry observer. 100% heart of gold. He always knew how to lighten the mood. His wit was unmatched and blissfully irreverent - he often had everyone laughing in tears. That was his true gift. We will all miss his smile and that impish chuckle.
Along with his wife, Kristin, Tom is survived by his parents Thomas Loker (and wife Teresa) of Danville, CA, and Irene (Leskinen) Kinder (and husband John) of Doylestown, PA, and brother Justin Loker and half brother Aleck Loker.
His celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7th at 4pm at Generations of Indian Valley (259 N 2nd St, Souderton, PA 18964). All are welcome to come celebrate Tom.
