Thomas Christopher Longnecker

Chris Longnecker, aged 81 passed away on December 11, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida. Chris was born in Georgia in 1942. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1965. He was an entomologist working in pest control and beekeeping. He was a constant prankster and storyteller. Additionally he loved animals and kept a small menagerie in his backyard which included chickens, rabbits, goats and fish. Chris was an avid beekeeper and provided honey for family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, collecting arrowheads and stamps. He was a member of Christ Church Jacksonville Anglican and shared his faith with whomever would listen. He was a very generous and kind man who helped whoever he could.
Chris leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose Mary; daughter Renee (Don) Detky; son Hans Longnecker; Spanish daughter Angel Studer; seven grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Christ Church Jacksonville Anglican, 9917 103rd Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32210 on Saturday January 6, 2024 at 11 am.
