Thomas Robert "Chino" Longoria, 37, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Gonzales, Texas. He was born on January 28, 1988, in the same close-knit community of Gonzales. Thomas lived a life rooted in hard work, loyalty and a deep love for the outdoors.
From a young age, Robert showed a natural connection to animals and land. He spent his childhood volunteering at the local veterinary clinic where his compassion for animals first took root. That early passion grew into a lifelong enjoyment of working with cattle and riding horses-activities that brought him peace and purpose. Whether he was out in the pasture, lending a hand to a neighbor's ranch or just spending time with family, Robert found joy in being outdoors.
Professionally, Robert worked in construction, specializing in building driveways and parking lots. His work ethic was evident in every project he took on- he approached each task with determination and pride. But beyond his job titles or skills, it was a willingness to help others that defined him most. He was known to many as someone who would drop everything to lend a helping hand, Robert was truly a friend to all. He had an unmistakable personality- bold, outspoken, and always unfiltered. He spoke his mind without hesitation, whether good or bad. Those who knew him appreciated his honesty and authenticity. His presence lit up gatherings with laughter and spirited conversations. Robert loved country music and could often be found watching movies on his phone during quiet moments. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends like Coy Hill-barbequing, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. Robert is survived by his brothers Daniel Torres, Juan Torres, Serapio Raul Torres, and Angel Torres, his sisters Marissa Torres-Gonzales and Susie Torres He is also survived by his uncles Serapio Longoria, Jr. and Phillip Longoria, his aunts Mary F Hernandez and Rosalinda Grifaldo, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert is reunited in rest with his beloved mother Mary Isabel Torres, his grandparents Serapio "Morro" and Tomasa Longoria, uncles Johnny Longoria and Luis "Wicho" Zamora, and his aunt Susie Longoria.
A visitation will be held at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am officiated by Pastor Flavio Hernandez.
