Thomas Charles "Tom" Mancini

Thomas Charles Mancini, 75, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with multiple debilitating illnesses. By his side, as always, was his devoted wife and caregiver, Susan Mancini, his partner in life and strength throughout his journey.

Tom was born and raised on Long Island, NY, where he was nurtured by a large, loving Italian family. He followed in his father's footsteps into the baking industry-a career that spanned decades and took him across the country from New Orleans to the Philadelphia suburbs, Upstate New York, and ultimately New England, where he discovered a deep affection for the coastal charm of Narragansett Bay.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jessica Grace Engerson, his brother Richard Mancini, and his parents Thomas and Teresa Mancini.

Tom is survived by his wife, Susan, and his cherished daughters Jamie Burke (Kelly) and Jaqueline Glum (Matthew). He was a proud and playful "PopPop" to three adoring grandsons: Quincy Thomas Burke, Miles Jesse Burke, and Elijah Matthew Glum, who will always remember his legendary weekends full of pancakes, card games and warm-hearted humor.

He is also survived by his brother, Larry Mancini, with whom he remained close throughout his life, his Uncle Anthony Mancini and Aunt Anna Cerra, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Later in life, as health challenges grew, Tom and Susan relocated to Florida in search of a more healing climate. There, he was fortunate to find community and dear friendship in Alana and Ralph Bowdridge, whose support brought light in difficult times.

Tom will be remembered for his resilience, warmth, quick wit, incredible desserts and deep love for his family. He loved spending time on the water, whether it was sailing on the finger lakes, day trips to Newport on the Come Together, or cruising the Intercoastal checking out the manatees, it was pure joy when he was able to share that with his friends and family.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
