Thomas (Tom) Walter Mang, age 85, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Tom was born on February 24, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He later earned a business degree in Auburn, New York, and went on to own and operate his company, Action Packaging, in Broomfield, Colorado, for many years.

Tom enjoyed both playing and watching sports throughout his life, with a special love for softball and golf. He was an avid reader who cherished novels, his daily newspaper, and especially the Bible. His faith was a guiding force in his life.

Tom and his late wife, Barbara, shared a lifelong passion for gambling, which inspired their dream of relocating from Colorado to Mesquite in 1998. It was there that they built a beautiful life together, spending 26 cherished years in their beloved home and community.

In October 2025, Tom moved to Mesa Valley Estates, where he spent his final months forming new friendships and enjoying the care of the wonderful staff. During this time, he experienced several memorable moments, including a Veteran’s Dream Flight in a restored WWII airplane, a ride in a restored 1940s truck, and many meaningful connections with fellow residents and staff. He especially looked forward to his nightly phone calls with his daughter, Tammie, sharing the highlights of his day.

Tom is survived by his sister, Deloris (Dee) Harlan; his daughter, Tammie (Justin); and his two stepdaughters, Robin and Wendy. He also leaves behind many dear friends, both old and new. While he could be stubborn at times, he had a great sense of humor, loved to joke around, and always had a smile on his face. He spoke his mind with no filter, yet he also had a heart of gold.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be forever remembered and loved.

“He served his country, loved his family, and trusted in the Lord.”

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
