Thomas Reeve Manning, 82, of Lampasas, died Friday, December 26, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX. He was born January 4, 1943, in New York to parents Thomas Manning and Helen Reeve.
Thomas married Elisabeth on May 6, 1964, at Ft Sill, OK. He was a devoted father, husband, and an honorable, caring protector who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable retirement in 1984, he also served as a correctional officer at the Texas Department of Corrections and retired in 2005. He cherished the quiet of the country and found great joy in spending his time outdoors, always working on various projects to fix up and improve his property. A man who felt a deep connection to nature, the deer on his property still come to his backyard looking for him.
Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas (Lynn) Manning, and Dianna Rhodes; his grandchildren, Christina Lincoln, Johnathon Manning, Bryan Manning, and Stephen Buchanan; his great-grandchildren, Julia Manning, Alex and Zachary Lincoln, Chevelle Buchanan, Gaige Buchanan, and Journey Buchanan.
A remembrance for Thomas will be announced at a later date for friends and family.
