Thomas F. Marick, 92, of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully at Centrica Rose Arbor Place, with his family at his side, on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Tom was born December 6, 1933, in Madison, Wisconsin to Louis and Lillian E. (Blumenthal) Marick. He grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms and was a 1951 graduate of Grosse Pointe High School South. Tom graduated from Michigan State University in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in Packaging. Tom served his country with the U.S. Army as a radar operator with guided missile systems during the Korean War. After 35+ years, he retired in February of 1996, from Post Cereal Division of Kraft/General Foods as the Material Management Manager.
Tom was formerly married to Carol A. Lincoln. Surviving are their five children, Thomas L. (Melody) Marick of Christiansburg, VA, Linda Marick of Battle Creek, Catherine (Daniel) Piper of Ionia, David Marick of Battle Creek, William Marick of Mt. Vernon, IL. Also surviving is a sister, Catherine Slagle of Fairhope, AL, eleven grandchildren (Cameron, Caleb, Cara, Meghan, Laci, Leah, Olivia, Allison, Jaime, Gil, and Carter); and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Louis R. Marick, and a sister, Lillian ‘Dee’ Boardman.
Tom was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In the past, Tom served as a president of the Post Management Club. He was a dedicated 12-year board of director officer and volunteer for both The South Michigan Food Bank and The Red Cross. He enjoyed golfing and was a former member of Riverside Country Club. Tom was an avid sports enthusiast of anything Michigan State University (Go Green) and his Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions.
Tom will be remembered for his outgoing, engaging personality, sense of humor and most importantly, his love of family and friends.
Friends will be received Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Christopher Ankley at St. Joseph Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026. A committal service with military honors by the U.S Army Honor Guard will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
