Thomas Albert Martin Sr.

Thomas Albert Martin Sr., 68, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 10,
2026. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Thomas was born on July 26, 1957, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Gerald and Ellen Martin. He
spent many years working as a laborer at Coulee Region Enterprise in Rockland,
Wisconsin, where he worked for over 30 years. Known for his strong work ethic and
dedication, Thomas took pride in the work he did and the life he built for his family.
Thomas had been suffering from Alzheimer's dementia since 2019, a difficult journey that
he faced with the support of those who loved and cared for him.
He loved fishing, hunting (but never caught a deer), and spending time with his family.
Thomas was known for his sense of humor, his storytelling, and his love for football -
especially
cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed simple moments and valued the time he
spent with the people closest to him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ellen Martin; his brothers, Fred
and Marty; and the love of his life, his former wife, Susan.
He is survived by his children, Thomas (Jacinda), Erica, and Hanna. He is also survived by
his grandchildren, Bradley, Tyler, and Ericka; his great-grandson, Braxton; and his siblings,
Geraldine. and Lyman. He also leaves behind Bradley's girlfriend, Harley, and Tyler's
girlfriend, Gia who were part of his extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday March 22nd from 2p-6p at 305 E North St Capron,
Illinois 61012.
Thomas will be remembered by his humor, his love for his family, and the memories he
created with those around him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
