Thomas Wright McGhee, III, age 64, of Buford, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was born in 1959, to the late Thomas, Jr. and Jayne McGhee. Tom could often be found boating and fishing on Lake Lanier. He loved camping with his family, (especially during “Free Spirit Week”), watching his granddaughter ride horses at barrel races and playing in the dirt with his grandson. Pop was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patty Anne McGhee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie McGhee; children, Ashley (Eric) Bennett, and Adam McGhee; brothers, Stephen McGhee and Mark McGhee; grandchildren, Jonah and Ella Bennett; dearly loved nephews and nieces; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
