Thomas Robert McTeague, born on September 15, 1947, in Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 9, 2024. He was a dedicated electrician by trade and a respected police officer who served communities in Plaistow and Hampstead, New Hampshire, as well as in Goose Creek, South Carolina, where he also served as a detective. After relocating from Delaware to Marianna in 2004, he embarked on a fulfilling retirement where he embraced his passion for building things.
Thomas was a devoted Catholic, steadfast in his faith and he was known for his engaging spirit and the warmth he brought to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Colleen Polk McTeague, of Marianna; his sister, Patty Faubert, of New Hampshire; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Fisher (Billy) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He is also survived by extended family member, Laura Smothers of Alford, along with his cherished Boston Terriers, Ben Franklin and Bella McTeague.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McTeague and Rita Eastman; his mother-in-law, Ann F. Quinn; his father-in-law, Oscar David Polk; and his Boston Terrier, Betsy Ross, who passed away earlier this year.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 PM until time of funeral service.
Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
