Thomas Michael Mizener

Thomas Michael Mizener, SELKIRK, NY, died unexpectedly October 21, 2024 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by family. Thomas was born in Albany, NY February 13, 1963 to LaVerne G. and Minnie Lou Van Epps Mizener. He grew up in Selkirk and was a 1982 graduate of Ravena, Coeymans, Selkirk Central School. Thomas worked at Three Farms Dairy, L.A. Swyer Development, and as a self-employed contractor. Thomas married Maribeth Wilkie July 26, 1986. Two beloved daughters were born to this marriage Jessica (Alex Nave) and Samantha (Luke Ramadhan).
Thomas was happiest when he was holding a fishing pole beside a stream teaching young folks how to fish. He delighted in the warmth of a campfire with a bottle of beer cuddling his treasured dachshunds Bear and Gidget. He loved woodworking, drawing, and writing poems. He found joy in children and time with family.
He is survived by his mother, his daughters and sons-in-law, his siblings Lina Marie Ostrander (Jody), Nicola McMullen (Robert), Terry Mizener, Tracy Mizener, Leatta Langton (Richard), Brianna Mizener, his sister-in-law Josie Mizener and numerous Wilkie in-laws, Mizener and Wilkie nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maribeth, his father LaVerne, brother Timothy, his father-in-law Lyle Wilkie, mother-in-law Patricia Wilkie and brother-in-law James Wilkie.
Arrangements are being handled by Meyers Funeral Home, 741 Delaware Ave. Delmar, NY 12054. Visitation with family will be held October 25, 2024 11-1 PM with internment immediately after at Our Lady of Christian Hope Cemetery Glenmont. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Thomas' name to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society https://www.mohawkhumane.org/donate.
