Mr. Thomas “Monk” Boone, age 93, entered into rest on Monday, January 20, 2025. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church by Pastor Curtis Laney with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Boone was born November 6, 1931 in Jefferson, SC a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Goldie Eubanks Boone. He was a longtime employee and retiree of Caro-Knit where he worked in the maintenance department. Along with his career at Caro-Knit, Monk also had a passion for farming. In retirement Mr. Boone spent many hours riding around, checking on his farm land. Monk was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was pillar of the Jefferson Community where he made many friends throughout his life. In his free time, Monk enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the fish camp.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boone was also preceded in death by wife of 70 years, Bonnie R. Boone; daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Boone Airington; siblings, Howard Boone, Bob Boone, Tuck Boone, Pete Boone, Inez Hinson, Roxie Oliver, and Nance Boone.
Survivors include his grandchildren, William Corey (Erin) Airington, Benjamin Kyle (Kelly) Airington, Hope (Sam) Spurlin, Mylea Airington, Lola Airington, and Zoe Airington; special nephew, Jerry “Punk” Boone; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
