It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas G. Moore, a loving father grandfather, uncle and friend who left us on March 2, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born in Bay City on April 15, 1939 and resided there his entire life. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling the U.S.A. His love of nature was never ending, and instilled in his children and grandchildren, his love of the great outdoors. One of his favorite spots to visit was Bay City State Park. He would whittle walking sticks, leaving them for others to enjoy.
In addition, he enjoyed competition rifle shooting for many years. He won the Michigan State Championship for high power rifle shooting in 1975, mentoring and inspiring many in the sport. Thomas was also a member of the sheet metal workers local union #7.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Shelly (Gary) Kirkbride, Dawn (Darrell) Canell, Wendy (Dave) Markey-Ronk, and Shannon (David) Pennel. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, plus nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. A celebration of Tom’s life will take place privately at a later date with immediate family. Tom will be deeply missed, but forever remembered in our hearts, as we carry his spirit with us on every hike, every adventure, and every moment spent in the great outdoors.
