Thomas C Muehlenbeck

Muehlenbeck, Thomas C. – of Frankenmuth, formerly of Birch Run age 93, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, just 4 days shy of his 94th birthday. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church – 8101 Poellet St in Birch Run. Pastor Sue Trinklein to officiate. Private burial in Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 1PM until 8PM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run and at Church on Wednesday from 10AM until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.

Thomas was born August 17, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Edward and Louise (Pagel) Muehlenbeck. Thomas proudly graduated from Birch Run High School with the class of 1950. He married the love of his life, Patsy, on January 24, 1953, at Christ Lutheran Church. Together, they shared an incredible 69 years of companionship, creating a beautiful family and countless cherished memories along the way. Thomas made significant contributions to the automotive industry, retiring after many years of dedicated service at General Motors. Prior to his time there, he honed his skills as a heavy equipment mechanic in road construction, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Thomas was so many things - an inventor, a mechanic, a pilot, a firefighter, a fisherman, a farmer. A man who could fix or build just about anything, Thomas loved playing cards and butter pecan ice cream. He was a man of integrity, kindness and humility, whose wit could light up a room.

Thomas is survived by his five children, Mary Setzer, Tom (Tammy) Muehlenbeck, Jr., Marla (Phil) Janness, Kim Muehlenbeck and Mark Muehlenbeck; grandchildren Mary (Mike) Wagner, Rebecca (Steve) Henry, Melissa Kirkpatrick, Adam (Heather) Muehlenbeck, Rachel Muehlenbeck, Lauren Janness (Joe Wierzbicki) and Hunter Janness; great grandchildren Owen, Ella and Ava Wagner, Kennedy (Ben) Kaiser, Kylie and Tessa Kirkpatrick, Aiden Cobleigh, Violet and Magnolia Henry, and Tristan and Jax Muehlenbeck; great-great grandchildren Lanie and August Kaiser; sister Karren (Paul) Kelly; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his wife, Patsy Muehlenbeck; brothers Russell (Joyce) Muehlenbeck and Robert Muehlenbeck; sister Grace Muehlenbeck; granddaughter Ashley Muehlenbeck; son-in-law Robert Setzer; and daughter-in-law Glennie Muehlenbeck.
