Thomas Nega Obituary

Thomas J. Nega, 85 of Ross, succumbed to ALS and Parkinsons after a two-year struggle with the diseases on December 23, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Ross Nega, his daughters Susan (Tim) Walker and Gretchen (Rodger) Cahill, and his stepson, Matthew (Mariah) Miller. His grandchildren Liam, Garrett, Shai, Echo and Knox brought great joy to his life. Brother of Patricia Micholas of Buffalo, NY.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and owned a camp in Meadville with his best friend, Ted Paulovich. His ultimate trophy was a grizzly bear shot in Alaska. He also enjoyed working on classic cars and trucks.
He was a fourth and fifth grade teacher for 31 years in the Gateway School District, Monroeville who was well-liked by his students.
Tom was a graduate of Freeport High School and of Clarion University where he got his degree in elementary education.
Visitation Saturday December 27th, 2- 5pm at Neely Funeral Home, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw, PA 15116.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ALS Association or the Michael J. Fox Research group for Parkinson's. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Thomas, please visit our floral store.
