Thomas "Toan" O’Brien, age 48, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He was born in Vietnam to Joseph and Hai (Nguyen) O’Brien. Toan lived life with a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace and joy in hiking, traveling, and exploring new places. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his kind and generous nature. He was a devoted family man in the Biloxi area, and his warm, compassionate personality made him beloved by all who knew him.
A proud and honorable member of the United States Air Force, Toan's service to his country was a reflection of his dedication and sense of duty. But beyond his military service, he will be remembered for the way he embraced life—his ability to connect with others, his generosity, and his unwavering support for those he loved.
Toan leaves behind his beloved wife, Tam Thach; his cherished son, Jayden T. O’Brien; his parents, Joseph and Hai O’Brien; his sister, Jane Nguyen; his brother-in-law, Le Nguyen; and his niece, Peytan Nguyen. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness and adventure will live on in the stories shared by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home West County Jackson, located at 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39532. Funeral services will be held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the funeral home, followed by cremation.
In honor of Toan’s memory and his courageous battle, the family requests that monetary donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center to support cancer research and help others in their fight against this disease. Riemann Family Funeral Home West County Jackson is assisting the family with arrangements. Toan will forever be remembered for his service, his adventurous spirit, and his loving heart.
