Thomas F. Nosworthy Jr.

Thomas F. Nosworthy Jr. of the Town of Wallkill, NY, passed away on September 9, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. He was 84.
The son of the late Thomas F. Nosworthy Sr. and Beatice Nosworthy, he was born on May 10, 1940, in New York, NY.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served active duty during the Cold War in the Pacific with NORAD. He was a member of American Legion Post 1181.
Following his time in the Navy, Tom embarked on a long career in the Telephone industry. Working for Bell Telephone, GTE and Sylvania, eventually coming to Middletown, NY. He worked for over thirty years as a lineman, installer and large switchboard maintainer and eventually became an engineer after graduating from OCCC with an AAS in Electrical Technology. After retiring from the Telephone company Tom worked for Mid-City Transit as a driver and instructor for many years.
Tom served in government in the Town of Wallkill for many years on the planning board, a councilman and Town Supervisor. He was currently the Town Historian.
Survivors include his wife Cheri at home, his children Diane Smith of Middletown; Deborah Nosworthy of California; Amy Linguanti and her husband Doug of Middletown and Thomas Karl Nosworthy of California, his seven grandchildren Andy, Alex, Alyssa, Lauren, Amber, Rachel and George, his two great-grandchildren Landon and Jackson and his sisters Anne Fischer and Sally Kohut and his brother Tad Mapes. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews including his special nephew, Brandon.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday September 13, 2024, from 4-7PM at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Ave. Middletown, NY.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024, at 10AM at the Circleville Cemetery, 890 Goshen Tpke. Circleville, NY.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024, at 3PM at the Town of Wallkill Community Center, 8 Wes Warren Dr. Middletown, NY.
