Maria Espinosa, born July 31st 1934 in El Peñon de Barhaona in The Dominican Republic, transitioned home on Tuesday morning November 25th at 4:26am. She ascended peacefully, surrounded by family and love.

Maria's love for her family was as great as the love for God and her faith. Faith fueled Maria through many hardships and helped celebrate many accomplishments. Her faith in God helped Maria face the challenges of being a single mother, raising 3 children head on. She never let a language barrier stop her from advocating for herself or her children, Ramon Dario (passed on 6/2/2025), Lilliana and Flor Aleida.

Maria found a job in the leather industry in NYC early on and kept that job for over 40 years until her retirement. An accomplishment she is very proud of.

She was the landscaper and botanist of the family. It was her greatest passion. She collected plant s and plant clippings like kids collect Pokémon.

Her appreciation for her family was apparent as she would constantly remind us of how grateful she was to all of us being there for her. Angelina was one of those people that she appreciated deeply, but her constant companion, her buddy was Stitch. Although we would ask her not to over feed him she would constantly sneak food to him...... making him the size that he currently is......chunky.

Her love language was that. Food. The amount of care, love and support she poured into the food she prepared far out numbered any other ingredient in that meal. And we are forever nourished because of her love language.

Maria loved God, she loved her family, but her greatest joy, her heart is her grandson Victor Logan, whom she affectionately called Logei (Low-g-ee). Forever proud of him, always caring for him he was never far from her thoughts. He always gifted her stuffed animals, which she adored. She would always make him his favorite meal, arina. He preferred how she would make it. He loved all her cooking. Incidentally her favorite meal was platanos..... ANYTHING platanos.

Maria.
