Susan Raechel Dirr

Susan Raechel Dirr (57), a lifelong resident of Middletown, NY, passed away with her daughter and sister by her side on November 9th, 2025, at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City.
Born on October 4th, 1968, at Horton Hospital in Middletown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Dirr and Florence LaBelle. Sue was a teacher of special needs children at AHRC for 25 years. Later, she worked for Orange and Rockland for 8 years. Sue was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend.
In her free time, she enjoyed going to the dog park with her three dogs and her valued dog park community. She had a strong love for her pets and all animals. Sue enjoyed the casino and traveling with her daughter. Those who knew Sue loved her for her sense of humor, generosity, kindness, and love for her daughter, family, and friends. She was a great cook and had the ability to fix almost anything. She fought bravely to stay with her family, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Angela Fiedler of Middletown, NY; her sister, Nancy Zemba of Allentown, PA; her nieces and nephew Erin, Megan, and Daniel Zemba of Allentown, PA; her great nieces Eden Zemba and Vaylin Bishop; several cousins and many friends; three beloved dogs and a parrot.
A memorial service will be held on November 22nd, 2025, from 2-5 PM at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, located at 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY, 10940. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Susan's honor to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
