Thomas J O'Brien II

Thomas J O'Brien II, 78 of Toms River passed away peacefully on Sunday April 6, 2025 at Tallwoods Care Center, Bayville. Born in Brooklyn, NY he resided in Middletown for 30 years before moving to Toms River in 1994. He served in the Army from 1966-1969 where he was stationed in Alaska. He worked for Conrail as a Train Inspector in Newark until an injury forced his early retirement in 1999. Tom was an avid fisherman going to Black Lake every year for Bass. He also enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, and playing cards, but what he loved most was spending time with his family. He was the best dad and husband. His huge heart, generous spirit, and sense of humor will be sorely missed. Surviving him is his wife of 37 years, Joanne O'Brien, sons, Thomas J O'Brien III, Donnie Strippoli, Matt Strippoli, Jay Strippoli, siblings, Bobby & Terry O'Brien, Patricia Resto, Nancy Lamberson & Linda Moslowski and 6 grandchildren, Shannon, Connor, Leo, Jake, Luke & Christopher. Visitation is Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday 11:30 AM at St Justin's Church, Toms River with Honor Guard.
