Thomas “Tommy” Oliver, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, he was born July 29, 1957 to the late Harry Wilson and Sally Louise Miles Oliver and was the husband of 35 years to the late Shirley Hurt Oliver.
Tommy worked at Honda Power Equipment in Quality Control for many years. He was a Boy Scout, Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, NASCAR and was an avid UNC Tarheel fan.
Survivors include his sons, James Michael Oliver (Jerlene Harris), Scotty Lee Oliver; grandchildren, Tayshon Oliver, Chase Oliver, Cassidy Oliver; sisters, Janice Bailey, Carolyn Singleton; special niece, Tracy Summers (Christopher); special nephew, Brian Bailey and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Gene Oliver; sisters, Patti Oliver and Kay Allred and brothers-in-law, Bobby Bailey and Edward Singleton.
A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Brian Dehart with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his niece, Tracy Summers.
