Thomas Owen Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Owen Sr., 81, of Keysville, Virginia, on August 12, 2025. Born June 10, 1944, in Prince Edward, Virginia, he was the son of the late Bernice Amos Owen and Florence Martin Owen.
Thomas worked more than thirty years at Commonwealth Propane, where he built lasting friendships. After retirement, he enjoyed farming his 54 acres, hunting, and sharing his love of bluegrass music with the community.
Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Ella “Marie” Owen; son Thomas “Tommy” Edward Owen Jr. and wife (Tammy Owen); daughter Bonnie Owen McCormick; nephew Wesley Mullens (Marie) and family; grandchildren Thomas “Trey” Edward Owen III (Danielle), Jesslyn Gullett (Alex), Brooklan Davidson (Matt), and Cody Martin (Jenny); great-grandchildren McKayla, Tom, Sydney, Emma, Charlie, Maddie, Abbie, and Bryce; and siblings Janice Howell (David), Curtis Owen (Linda), Everette Owen (Donna), Elizabeth Parham, and Peter Owen (Glinda).
A celebration of his life will be held at the home of Thomas and Marie Owen, 517 Mount Harmony Rd., Keysville, VA on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in memory of Thomas to the Southside SPCA, c/o Ray Elliott, 797 Starlight Lane, Kenbridge, Va. 23944.
