Thomas Jay Pandell

Thomas Pandell affectionately known as "Tom Moose" of Bristol, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in the embrace of his loving family. Thomas was born on December 17, 1963 in Bristol Connecticut. He was the son of the late Steven and Dorella Panasuk. He attended school in Terryville and graduated from Terryville High School in 1981.
A memory from his childhood that he held dear were his familys yearly vacations to Cape Cod. On one of these vacations his sister recalls that they were on a sandbar looking for clams, when unknown to them the tide came in and water had risen to their necks. They slowly made their way to shore and Thomas refused to drop the bag of clams in his hand.
Thomas was a lifelong aviation enthusiast who got his start in flying at Robertson Airport in Plainville where he would become a flight instructor. He worked his way up in the industry and for over twenty years he was a pilot on private jets flying all over the world. In this job he made many friends including Manuel, or Manny who Thomas described as being his "best friend". One of his accomplishments that Thomas was most proud of was having former President Bill Clinton as a passenger and taking a picture with him.
Thomas had several hobbies including playing guitar, a joy that he passed on to both of his sons. His voice will be remembered and sorely missed. He also had a love for animals, notably our dachshund named Rudy that passed in 2021 who Thomas called the family pet. More recently Thomas loved to spend time with Daisy, a German Shepard who he would claim to not like, but would take pictures of her and buy things for her as if she were his baby.
Thomas was a wonderful father, brother, and friend to many. His loss will leave a hole in the hearts of all who love and cherish him. Left to remember him are his two sons Jason and Brandon Pandell, their mother Lori Pandell, his sister Lisa Shy, and multitudes of other friends and family. Thomas may be gone but the impact that he has had in the lives of others will be remembered forever.
