Thomas George Partridge, Sr., 72 of Monroe Township passed away peacefully at Ashtabula County Medical Center on January 12, 2024.

He was born on June 1,1951, to the late George Truman and Dorothy Braunns Partridge of Geneva, Ohio.

On July 31, 1971, he married the love of his life, Shirley May (Allen), they enjoyed/endured 52 years of marriage.

A lifelong farmer at heart and FFA member in High School, he continued to raise crops and cattle most of his life. He was hell bent on keeping his boys busy and out of trouble and always able to provide for themselves. One of his favorite joys was waking up teenagers on Saturday morning by insisting “If you want to play you got to pay.” Upon graduating he started working for the Ohio Department of Transportation and retired after 30 years. He spent many nights white knuckled behind the wheel of the iconic white snow plow. Tom’s last road project was helping to build the Ashtabula Viaduct connecting the East and West side.

Never knowing or meeting a stranger, upon retirement he became the "Yoder
Toter". He spent 20 plus years hauling livestock and Amish families. Tom was much more than an Amish taxi, he became friends with many families throughout all the Amish Communities of Ashtabula County and Linesville, PA.

Also known as the “The OG Grumpy Grandpa” Tom was a master with the claw machine always quick to spoil his grandchildren. His grandchildren have fond memories of naming and feeding calves with bottles. He enjoyed surprising his grandkids with the various dogs, rabbits, or calves although the bigger surprise usually rested on a daughter-in-law. Tom loved asking his oldest grandson Aaron to play hooky to spend the day at a local livestock auction.

A lifelong Christian, Tom was an active member of the Kelloggsville Methodist Church. Although shy and bashful he had a beautiful tenor voice; hearing him sing a favorite hymn or Christmas carol was a treasure.

He is survived by his sons: Thomas Jr. (Christina), Daniel Sr., and Kenneth; his beloved grandchildren: Melanie Grace, Aaron Thomas, Daniel Junior (DJ), and Cali Anne; his siblings, Louise Newness of Kingwood, Texas, and Dianne (George Jr.) Hopson of Ashtabula, Ohio and two very beloved friends of Thomas and his family, Robert Lampson, Jr. (Uncle Bob) and Joannie Adams.

A celebration of life will be held in lieu of calling hours or a viewing; a future date, time and location will be announced at a later date by the family.
