Tom Paulick was a friend I met through John Shelley who was a Sears co-worker with my husband, Tom Butler. Tom P. and John were both in Chile in the peace corps together. My favorite memory of Tom P. was "talking football". Whether we were having a pre-game discussion or a post-game "recap" Tom's ideas and analysis were usually "spot-on". I believe that Virginia was a great person like Tom. Both had a faith and a belief of working in a community. I am especially grateful to have seen the caring, strength, and encouragement of both Tom & Virginia. When Virginia organized a book study group "Mujeres" and led discussions, I learned Spanish language and enjoyed the social experience: our lunches! Tom & Virginia are greatly missed and today are together in peace.

Tom was a dear friend. In addition to our Peace Corps experience (1961-'63) We reconnected in later years with Virginia and my husband, Elden for lunch at Lake Geneva every summer. May he sleep with the angels.

A friend indeed...that was Tom Paulick. From our first meeting in high school at St. Ignatius to our college years at Notre Dame, even to his years in Chile with the Peace Corps, to our adventurous tour of Ireland from Ashford Castle in County Mayo, and with his kind, gentle and beautiful wife, Virginia, and her too soon and sad death, he was always steadfast in his friendship, his concern and his generous offers to help with my difficulties, dilemmas and sorrows.
May you rest in heavenly peace forever, my dear friend.

I met your mother, Virginia, in a book study at St Isaac Jogues in 1995. She became a spiritual mother to me. After her death, I enjoyed running into your Dad at Mass, usually at Ascension. Sending love and prayers for their souls and your beautiful family.

Pilar,
So many wonderful memories of your Dad, Mom and you as we learned of your Dad's passing. He was such a kind soul and quietly led by example with witness to his faith and Notre Dame.
Prayers for all of you.
