Thomas Allan "Tomcat" Peerenboom, 63, of Florence, Wisconsin, passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born on November 27, 1961. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy from 1979-2001 as a Gyro Technician on active duty and later in recruiting.
Some of the locations Tom served were Naval Station Great Lakes, Naval Support Facility-Diego Garcia, Joint Region Marianas-Naval Base Guam, Naval Base San Diego, Naval Submarine Base New London, and Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
He served aboard the USS Proteus (AS-19), the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), and the USS Inchon.
Tom's family was his greatest joy; he cherished every moment spent with them. He talked about his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons to everyone. In his free time, Tom enjoyed playing softball, watching the Green Bay Packers, and cooking as a prep cook at Annie's Trading Post.
Tom is survived by his loving daughter, Megan Paynter; son-in-law, Tyler Paynter; and his beloved grandchildren, Trinton, Elijah, Easton, and Camden Paynter. He is also survived by his siblings, Fred, Gert, Sarah (Dave) Dale, Kathy DuPont, Tom, Ruth (John) Canning, Mary (Ken) Mackie, Joe (Verena), Patty (Bob) Sweet, Rick, Peggy (John) Gibbons, and Paul and Donna.
Preceding Tom in death were his parents, Fred and Edith Peerenboom; and his brother, Charles Peerenboom.
A Celebration of Tom's life will be held at Annie's Trading Post in Florence from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025.
