David Allen Summerfield ObituaryDavid Allen Summerfield, 61, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday, November 7, 2025.
David was born on December 20, 1963, in Mackinac Island, Michigan, to the late Albert "Ray" and Mary (Dufina) Summerfield. He graduated from Mackinac Island High School in 1981. He married Cindy Kammers on October 3, 1986, in Florida. David worked for the State of Florida as a Forest Ranger. In 1992, he and Cindy moved to Iron Mountain.
David was a highly respected self-employed General Contractor in the community. As a local businessman, he blessed countless people with his many talents in construction. Known for his unwavering generosity and caring for others, Dave was always willing to teach, mentor, and share his skills anytime he could. His caring nature extended into spending time with the kids at the daycare.
Outside of his work, David was happiest spending time with his family. He cherished camping, snowmobiling, and hunting with his children. He found his greatest joy in his role as a grandfather.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cindy Summerfield; his children, Christopher Summerfield and his wife Stacy, and Chelsye Summerfield and her significant other Jesse; his siblings, Thomas Chambers of Mackinac Island, Michigan, and his "favorite," Sheryl McCullough of Nashville, Tennessee.
He leaves behind his six greatest blessings, his grandchildren, Lucas, Parker, Gabriella, Greyson, Brynlee, and Sierra.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Redemption Hill, 332 South Carpenter Avenue, Kingsford, Mich.
