Thomas Anthony Piet Sr., affectionately known as Tommy, passed away peacefully in hospice care on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 2, 1963, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Tommy was the youngest of six children born to Joseph and Edith Piet.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Tommy spent over 30 years as a roofer, providing for his family with strength and determination. After retiring from roofing, he selflessly devoted his time to caring for his beloved mother, Edith Piet.
Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Piet Jr., his wife Hope, and their children: Cheyenne, Miley, Hunter, Katelin, Joey, and Shiloh; and great-grandchildren Tahlya and Aleister. He is also survived by his daughter, Jayme Piet, her husband Roger, and their children: Jazzmyn, Chaytin, and Dallin. His son, Kenneth Nicholson, and his wife, Mary, also survive him, along with his loyal dog and constant companion, Little Bit.
Tommy was known for his love of knife collecting and for finding peace and joy riding his bike in the sunshine and fresh air. He was a faithful son, a loving father and grandfather, a loyal brother, and a friend to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Christ United Methodist Church, 200 East Lattin Street, Hastings, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tommy Piet's name to support others in their fight against cancer.
