Thomas Pullias Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Taylorsville Rd on Jan. 9, 2025.
Thomas Gray Pullias, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Thomas, born in Lebanon, Tennessee on April 4, 1946, developed a love for learning and innovation. A Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology was earned by him from Tennessee Tech, in addition to this he subsequently created a highly successful career. His career was notably characterized by important contributions to several prominent companies. His work with the GE Energy Division, GE Motor Division, RCA, Northern Telecom, Bandag, and Sunbeam Oyster demonstrated his dedication to excellence and his commitment to advancing the field of engineering.
Thomas proudly served the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a communications specialist from 1967 to 1970, alongside his career achievements. His service showed his sense of duty. It also showed his sense of honor.
Thomas always helped his community. He dedicated many years to volunteering with the Spencer County 4-H. Serving as the council treasurer and also in the chaired by-laws committee. Also for Spencer County he served on the by-laws committee for the Spencer County Extension Council, the Spencer County Beekeepers Association and the Spencer County Agricultural Development Board. He served as treasurer for the Lake Davenport Sailing Club in Davenport, IA and these roles demonstrated his meaningful generosity and constant dedication to helping many people grow and connect within his community.
Thomas loved woodworking, sailing and beekeeping, finding these hobbies fulfilling. In his formative years, he was involved in many equestrian competitions, a pursuit which led to his acquaintance with Frances Morgan Pullias. The two fell in love and they built a beautiful life together over their fifty-two years of marriage.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Frances, his son Morgan, his wife Heather, his cherished grandson Zayne, his brother Kenneth Pullias, his wife Terry and many friends who will miss him deeply.
As Thomas wished, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be scheduled. It will occur at a later date in March.
Thomas Gray Pullias is remembered for his love of family, his dedication to helping others, his career successes and his lasting happiness in life's simple pleasures. Those who knew him may find great comfort in their cherished memories of this outstanding man and his deeply important effect will be felt for countless generations to come.
