Thomas Joe "Tom" Rickey

Thomas Joe (Tom) Rickey, 66, of New London, MO, passed away at 3:45 PM Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.
Graveside services will be held at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Rev. W.C. Willis will officiate.
Tom was born to Oscar T. & Sandra K. Rickey (McDonald) on March 30, 1959. He was the eldest of seven children born the couple. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, William (Bill) Rickey and Mary Catherine (Cathy) Dodd. Surviving siblings include one brother, Kenneth (Kenny) Rickey and three sisters, Brenda K. (Kay) Charlton, Sheila Freiling and Mildred (Diane) Dodd. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
Tom was married to Sue Rickey (Irelan), on November 28, 1983. They remained married until her death on September 28, 2013, just shy of thirty years. They will rest together side by side in burial.
Their union produced three children, Pattee Hull (Jake), T.J. Rickey (Heather) and Dana LeMar (Sam), they survive. He was born seven grandchildren, whom he adored and was adored in return.
Tom's pastimes included raising chickens & hunting dogs and was an avid horseman and Farrier. He was fearless when it came to horse trade, saddle breaking horses to ride & drive, he passed his love of horses on to his children. He enjoyed raccoon hunting and fishing any chance he had. He was a great lover of old country music and would sing along with most any song he heard. He also admired western movies and watched earnestly, no matter how many previous viewings.
Tom was saved in the blood and Christian by faith.
He was outgoing and personable and will be remembered fondly.
