Thomas Joseph "Tom" Risher

SMSGT Thomas Joseph "Tom" Risher, US Air Force, Ret., 80, of Moncks Corner, SC died Wednesday afternoon at his residence.

His funeral will be 2:00 PM Monday afternoon, July 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

SMSGT Risher was born October 20, 1944, in Dorchester, SC, a son of Aaron Risher and Lavoda Coker Risher. He was of the Baptist faith. After his military career he continued to work at Fuel Depot, ARS, and the Commissary. SMSGT Risher enjoyed being outdoors fishing, gardening, and keeping his yard meticulously landscaped. He spent his time indoors watching football, baseball, and wrestling on TV. During his military career he was stationed in Spain and Germany where he began to enjoy traveling. His family would often visit family in Tennessee. SMSGT Risher was a loving family man that adored his cat Mickey. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Estill Linder and Mary Ann Huff, and a brother, David Risher.

Surviving are his wife, Lillie DeBord Risher; a son Christopher J. Risher of Moncks Corner and his wife, Ashley Radcliffe, of England; a sister, Mildred Johnson and her husband, Joseph, of St. Stephen; and one grandchild, Maslow Risher.
