Thomas Lawrence "Buddy" Roberts, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in
Leesville, Louisiana, on August 10, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 17, 1950, in Leesville, Buddy was a lifelong resident of the community he cherished. Buddy was the son of Ervin A. Roberts and Ruby Smith Roberts, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved wife of over 29 years, Jane E. Roberts, and his sisters, Ruby Alice Freeland and Jo Ann Sepulvado. He is survived by his two sons, Tom Roberts Jr. (Courtnee) of Anacoco, LA, and Kevin Yates (Melissa) of Searcy, AR, and his daughter, Tammy Roberts of
Leesville, LA. Buddy also leaves behind his cherished brother, Arthur Reid Roberts, and five adoring grandchildren: Tre' Roberts, Ty Roberts, Brandon Taylor, Liz-abeth Harper, and Keith Roberts, who brought immense joy to his life. Buddy dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country, proudly retiring from the United States Army as a SSG E-6. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of duty and resilience, qualities that defined his character throughout his life. He was known for his strong will, determination, and a unique ability to see the positive in every situation, traits that inspired those who knew him. After his time in the military, Buddy applied his skills as a diesel mechanic, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. His hands-on approach and dedication to his craft were evident in the quality of work he delivered. Outside of his professional life, Buddy found joy in various hobbies and interests. A devoted Texas Rangers baseball fan. He had a passion for westerns and enjoyed riding motorcycles, feeling the freedom they offered. A skilled guitar player, he often entertained family and friends with music that resonated with his easygoing nature. His love of debate was both entertaining and thought-provoking, as he passionately shared his opinions and insights. Buddy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, spending quality time with them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come. A funeral service to honor Buddy's life will be held on August 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Crystal Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating the remarkable life of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in
Leesville, Louisiana under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Tre' Roberts, Ty Roberts, Rodney Parker, Donald Parker, Jared Williams and Bro. Rodney Hicks. In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the man who will forever be remembered for his love, his laughter, and his generous heart. Buddy Roberts will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
