Thomas Ross Obituary

He is preceded in death by his son, David; brother, Jerry and sister, Carolyn.
Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy; son, Mark (Renee); granddaughters, Ritchie and Lily whom he greatly adored; nephews, Scott (Amy) Winn, Brian Winn and Roger Winn. He deeply treasured his family.
After being discharged from the Air Force, he started his life of public service by helping people in their time of need. He drove an ambulance for Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home before working for the Nashville Airport Authority for 25 years in the Safety / Security and Fire / Rescue divisions. After retirement Tom worked as a dispatcher for the Nashville Fire Dept. His last job was as a funeral director for Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home.
He loved his many friends and enjoyed making them laugh. He could really tell a tale and was the life of the party.
Tom's family will welcome friends at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 1700 Hadley Ave, Old Hickory. His Celebration of Life will be at the Hadley Chapel with visitation one hour before the service. Our close friend, Jim Harris, will officiate. The Willing Workers Sunday School Class of the Old Hickory United Methodist Church will act as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Old Hickory United Methodist Church, 1216 Hadley Ave, Old Hickory, Tn. 37138. We would like to thank the staff at Stone Ridge Health Care for the great love and care they gave to Tom and Nancy.
Visitation will be at Phillips-Robinson Hadley Chapel on Monday, July 24, from 4pm - 7pm and again on Tuesday, July 25, from 10am - 11am. The service will be on Tuesday, July 25 and will begin at 11am in our chapel. Interment following the service at Spring Hill Mausoleum at 1pm.

Captain Ross was a awesome man, we had so much fun at the Airport. Love you and Nancy, prayers going up.
