Thomas A. Ruley

Thomas A. Ruley, 92, of North Manchester, Indiana, formerly of Wabash, died at 3:15 am, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. He was born on March 15, 1933, in Marion, Indiana, to Paul E.T. and Evabelle (Barker) Ruley.
Tom was a 1952 graduate of Nuremburg High School in Nuremburg, Germany. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Tom worked as an Air Policeman in the Air Force, as an Information Specialist for the Armed Forces Radio Service, and also was the Newspaper Editor at the Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. He attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Wabash. Tom was a member of Wabash American Legion Post 15. In his youth Tom was a Boy Scout and during his time placed a wreath on the Lincoln Statue. Tom's radio career continued to Indiana where he was a radio broadcaster for WMRI in Marion; and he also was the maintenance manager of an apartment complex. He moved to Wabash from Grant County in 1995. Tom enjoyed walking, fishing, was an avid reader, especially his Bible, and especially loved his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Chuck) Cable of LaFontaine, Indiana and Jane (Gary) Barlow of Wabash; four grandchildren, Nathan (Shani) Barlow of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Krista (Jay) Price of Huntertown, Indiana, Kaila Barlow of Kendallville, Indiana, and Kevan (Tiasia) Barlow of Westfield, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Barlow of Wabash, Ellie Price and Henry Price, both of Huntertown, Myles Barlow of Westfield, Jedidiah Barlow, Abram Barlow, and Elias Barlow, all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Paul E. Ruley.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, May 1, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Nathan Barlow officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. Friends may call 10-11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
