Thomas Schaffer Obituary
Beloved husband of Jackie, nee Bucaro for over 28 years. Loving father of Emily. Beloved son of Sylvia and the late John Schaffer and son-in-law of Barbara Bucaro. Dear brother of Jill (Erik) Hallberg, the late William, the late Dan Schaffer and brother-in-law of Deana (Jack) Caponigro. Cherished uncle of Angelina, Jessica, Anthony and Angelo. Tom was also survived by many cousins and friends.
A Retired Northfield Police Officer, Tom began his career in law enforcement with the Palatine Police Department. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Visitation Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4-8 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Funeral Saturday, January 31st, 9:30 AM from the funeral home to St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine for Mass at 10 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
