Thomas Schimpf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Behm Family Funeral Homes - Madison on Oct. 3, 2024.
Thomas Michael Schimpf, age 78 of Madison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at UH Cleveland Medical Center. He was born July 11, 1946, in Painesville, the son of Michael E. and Angie Mae (Potter) Schimpf. He married Kevan L.( Kehl) Schimpf in Painesville, March 18, 1972, and is now reunited with her.
Tom was a loving husband, father and friend who listened openly and supported others earnestly. He retired as a Chemical Operator at the Lubrizol Corporation in 2007, but after his wife passed in 2014, found his most recent job as a merchandising specialist and delivery driver at O'Reilly's Auto Parts. Tom enjoyed the comradery and making relationships with clientele during his 10 years there.
When Tom wasn't working, he enjoyed historical documentaries, cartoons, tacos, and being disappointed in the Cleveland Browns sports team. He loved to spend time with family and friends; from recurring Taco Tuesdays to weeklong treks to cabins in the woods. He loved all his kids unconditionally and was always there to lend a helping hand. He leaves behind a legacy of being someone who lights up the room with his friendly demeanor, humor and quick-wittedness, while also taking his tasks seriously – from merchandising to house remodeling.
He is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie (Dale) Modic; sons, Corey T. Schimpf, Tyler M. Schimpf; sister, Linda (Tim) M. Golding; and sister-in-law, Karen Perkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kevan; parents; and brother-in-law, Tom Perkins Sr.
Friends will be received Friday, October 11, 2024, 4-8pm, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison Ohio, 44057.
Tom always helped our furry friends and had a special love for his dogs and cats. Friends may contribute, in Tom's name, to Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, Ohio 44072.
