Thomas Allen Schley, 80, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A graveside service, with miliary honors, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 28th at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington with Pastor Daniel Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 27th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
Thomas was born on January 21, 1945, in Wallace, NC, to the late Thomas and Virginia Schley. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Following his military service, Thomas went on to have a successful career at IBM where he worked for 26 faithful years.
Thomas enjoyed fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. He was a skilled woodworker, which was a hobby he thoroughly enjoyed. Thomas also loved to travel, see new sights and explore new places.
Thomas will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ashley Croom (John) of Wilmington, NC; son, Allen Owen Schley (Stacey) of Greenville, NC; sister, Betty Berry of Emerald Isle, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Mitchell Croom, Jaxson Owen Croom, and Georgia Blaire Croom; and his furry friends, Harley and Ziggy.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Schley and brother, Jesse Schley.
