Thomas passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 25, 2023 due to an auto accident. Tom was born February 17, 1967 in Kalamazoo the son of Kenneth and MaryAnn (Bushman) Schlotterback. Tom worked in machine maintenance for many years. He was always very handy and was able to fix almost anything. He was always there when friends or family needed help. Tom's unique sense of humor was always present. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
On October 10, 1998, he was united in marriage to his loving wife Melissa (Valdez) who survives. Also surviving are children, Casie Yale and Alec Schlotterback; his father, Kenneth Schlotterback; brothers, Todd Schlotterback, Tracy Schlotterback, Troy (Kimberly) Schlotterback, Ty Schlotterback; sister-in-law, Mande Schlotterback; and several nieces and nephews. Tom will be missed by his dedicated companion Moe. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, MaryAnn; brother and sister-in-law, Tim (Tammie) Schlotterback; and sister-in-law, Stacy Schlotterback. Friends may meet the family from 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening, February 2, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Cremation will follow and private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the SPCA of Kalamazoo.
