Thomas Schreffler Obituary

PHILIPSBURG - Thomas Z. "Tommy" Schreffler, Jr., 69, of Philipsburg, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his residence.

Tommy was born on May 10, 1955, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Thomas Z. Schreffler, Sr. and Alice E. (Reish) Schreffler.

He was a graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.

During his working career, he was employed with several area businesses and organizations that included working as a grocery clerk for the former Philipsburg A&P, a gas station attendant at Richmond's Mobil, a custodian at the Moshannon Valley YMCA, a custodian at the Philipsburg First Presbyterian Church, a groundskeeper at the Philipsburg Elks Country Club and working part-time as a detailer for Thompson Expert Collision.

Tommy was raised in the Presbyterian faith. He was also a former member of the Chester Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tim R. Schreffler.

He is survived by a sister, Dale E. Acela, of Newville; a brother, David B. Schreffler and his wife, Joy, of Dillsburg; two nieces, Alissa J. Acela and Jocelyn Draugelis (Brandon); four nephews, Michael A. Acela (Christina), Brian D. Schreffler, Eric G. Schreffler and William P. McCreary (Martha Rose); and numerous other extended family members.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tommy's memory to the Philipsburg Cemetery, P.O. Box 27, Philipsburg, PA 16866.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Philipsburg.
