Thomas C. Sherry

Funeral Mass for Thomas C. Sherry, age 82, of Lisbon, NY, will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00AM at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Mr. Sherry passed away early Sunday morning, July 13, 2025 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Sherry of Lisbon, NY; his son, Thomas Sherry and his wife Katherine, of Vacaville, CA; grandchildren, Sierra H. and Rourke B. Sherry of Vacaville, CA; one sister, Patricia Mandigo and her husband, Gary, of Ogdensburg, NY; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas is predeceased by his parents, Bennett and Helen Sherry; a son, Richard Sherry; three brothers, James Sherry, Donald Sherry and Richard Sherry and four sisters, Kathleen Ankenbrandt, Elizabeth Duprey, Mary Catherine Sherry and Linda Wherle.

Thomas was born on August 26, 1942, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of the late Bennett G. and Helen (Parker) Sherry. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1962. After high school, Thomas enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962 and was honorably discharged. Thomas married Barbara Ann Compo on April 28, 1973, at Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg, NY, with Rev. Joseph Falletta officiating. Thomas began his career at the enlarged Ogdensburg City School District as a custodian. Thomas retired after twenty-five years of service.

Thomas was a devoted member of the Notre Dame Church choir, where he shared his love of music for over 30 years. A lifelong outdoorsman, he was a proud member of the Beaver Pond Club for 66 years, having joined at just 16 years old. Thomas found great joy in hunting and cherished the time spent in nature with friends and family. His deep roots in the community and unwavering passions left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
