Thomas D. Sparan passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 23, 2026. He was 90 years old. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie DePalma Sparan and brothers Eddie, Bob and Ralph Sparan. He is survived by his four children: Deborah Sparan (Gregg Franzino), Donna Sparan, Mary Ann Tamburri (Todd Rende), and Tommy Sparan, Jr. (Jenny), his four grandchildren, PJ Fabricatore, Thomas Fabricatore (fiancé Michelle), Michael Tamburri, Jr. and Thomas Sparan and many nieces and nephews.
Born on December 3, 1935 in Stamford, CT. Tom held a wide variety of jobs throughout his life. He had a very diverse skill set and broad experience. Early in life, he worked for The Coca-Cola Company making deliveries. He went on to own and operate Pro Clean Carpet Clean. When he wasn't running numbers, you could find him in the kitchen where he perfected his love for cooking. He went on to open Party Time Deli in Belltown. From the deli, he worked for the City of Stamford Highway Division, which included snow removal and seems apropos since he passed away during the Blizzard of 2026. His final and most rewarding job was as a crossing guard for Springdale School. Tom held a very rich perspective on life.
On any given day you could find Tom relaxing in front of the television sipping a Vodka Martini, eating a chili dog and watching his favorite baseball team, the NY Yankees. He loved country music, Devil Dogs, and his home in Vermont where he spent many years hunting and entertaining family. His love and passion for dogs held true throughout his life. Chubby, Cocoa, and Sweetie to just name a few of his beloved pets. He loved Cadillacs, Halloween, celebrating St. Patrick's Day, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.
Tom was well liked by everyone he met and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered as Poppy Tom and will be greatly missed.
