SWANTON - Thomas St. Francis passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born on January 14, 1958, and was a lifelong resident of Swanton. Tom was the son of the late Hubert Sr. & Hilda (Minkler) St. Francis.
Tom was a very hard and dedicated worker. He received awards for employee of the month and year from the places he worked. He worked for several companies, A.L. Barkyoumb, Dowlings' Burlington Drug, and Leader Evaporator, throughout his career. He was proud to be part of the shipping and receiving department at Leader before his retirement.
He loved to go fishing (especially during the winter months), camping, and playing horseshoes. He enjoyed landscaping and could often be seen working on his immaculate lawn, along with carpentry and building contracts done working with his older siblings. He was always joking around to make people laugh. Tom had a nick name for everyone he knew. He especially enjoyed Friday nights playing poker with his friends and family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Deborah (Paré) St. Francis of Swanton; his sons, Travis, and Kyle; and his granddaughter, Kyra all of St. Albans; his siblings, Hubert Jr. and his wife Sandra of Swanton, Lorenzo of Swanton, James and his wife Candy of Swanton, Terry and his wife Cindy of St. Johnsbury, Robin of St. Albans, Debra (Mooney) of Swanton, and special little sister, Tina and her husband James of St. Albans; his favorite aunt, Patsy; a special sister-in-law, Cindy; Deborah's sister, Laura Rocheleau; Deborah's brother-in-law, Gary Savary; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his siblings, Richard, Paul, Robert, Ronald John, Daniel, and Patrica Corwell; father and mother in-law, Hubert & Marie Paré; and siblings-in-law, Janet Paré, Nancy Savary, and Mike Rocheleau.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, his family will be holding a private graveside service in St. Mary's Cemetery in Swanton.
