Thomas Stevens passed away August 3, 2022, at home with his children by his side. Tom was born July 21, 1937, in Mayflower, Arkansas, to Fred and Cassie (Moody) Stevens. Their family moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1945.
Tom and Linda (Bledsoe) fell in love in high school and were married in 1956.
Tom retired from City Utilities after 37 years. He loved reading the Bible and a good western. He loved going hunting and was an avid fisherman, hobbies that he passed on to his four children. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader for many years.
Tom was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Linda (Bledsoe); his parents; his sister, Christine Hanzlick, and husband, Neil; his beloved grandson, Jeremy; and his faithful companion, Susie.
Tom is survived by his brother, Jack and Millie Stevens; his four children, Teresa Rarrick, David and wife, Janice Stevens; Donald and Rebecca Stevens; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home on August 16, 2022. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a short service. Interment for Tom and Linda will follow at Manley Cemetery, in Battlefield, Missouri.
We were raised in such a beautiful home filled with love and Jesus where everyone was always welcomed.
